Cole and Melissa arrived at the scene of our shoot and my heart skipped a beat! Out of the car came a beautiful family of four all dressed in elegance and style. Melissa’s beautiful blue flowing gown was a photographer’s dream. She looked so lovely with baby number three on the way. Little four-year old Athena was wearing her new dress for the first time and two-year old William even had a tie on. Cole looked dapper. They were perfect!
We chose Low Gap park for our shoot. The sun was just right in the sky for a lovely glowy background. To make things even better, the Beyoncé wind started to kick up. I was in heaven! I was able to capture some of the most beautiful images with Melissa’s dress flowing in the wind. Eventually as the sun started to set, the wind began to make us shiver, but Melissa, Cole, William and Athena were amazing and still let me press on until our light started to fade.
We snuck in some candid shots of the kids while they ran around, and William tried to play with the park water fountain. (Kids and water, always—right?) We got some lovely couple shots of Cole and Melissa too. After we wrapped up the “official” session, we headed down to the park and snuck in a few more shots of happy children playing in the park.
Melissa is soon-to-be a mother of three, and yet this is the first time she has taken pregnancy photographs. I couldn’t be more honored and happy to capture these imagine for her family to treasure forever. They were a dream to work with and trusted me with poses and positioning, though I kept saying, “Don’t worry if it feels weird. It will look great!” And they sure did look amazing! I’m so happy for these two and for the love they share. They certainly emanate joy and love. I’m so happy for the little bundle that will be theirs in three short months. May the love and joy grow!
