Dreamy Aptos Fall Wedding
When I first met Megan and Miguel, I loved them both immediately. I loved their love for each other, their humility, their trust and their contagious smiles. There is a chemistry that you can feel when two hearts that are meant for each other come together. All their joy spills out on others.
When the day finally came for their wedding, I walked into it in a bit of a dream-like state. Like, “Is this actually finally happening today?!” The whole day felt this way. It was as though they had always belonged together, as though they had never been without each other, and yet today was the day that was going to mark their together foreverness.
Megan and Miguel shared a very intimate moment when they had their first look and shared their vows. I couldn’t help but be moved to tears as their looks and words showed how much love they have for one another.
Their wedding was officiated by Deacon Dan, a close friend of many years, in a beautiful ceremony at Resurrection Church in Aptos, California. Their ceremony and reception was sprinkled with bits of special and meaningful traditions.
We were able to capture the most stunning husband and wife portraits when we arrived to the reception at Sesnon House. The light hitting the fall leaves and casting golden glow all over Megan and Miguel was breathtaking. The newlyweds rocked their portraits and never lost their inner glow either. They had a twinkle in their eye all day, with a radiant smile that just kept on shining.
Everything about their wedding reception was beautiful. Sesnon House was spectacular as a reception venue. The weather was perfect for an outside dinner, even though we were deep into fall. The speeches brought me to tears (hard when you’re trying to not lose focus—pun intended!) The light was dreamy. It was a fairytale!
The first dances were some of the best I’ve ever seen, with mother and son busting out some ball room type dancing moves and ending with a father-daughter choreographed medley of classics!
The intimacy within this family and the appreciation for one another was something tangible. Each honored by becoming part of the other. A beautiful uniting and merging of separate lives into one with complete acceptance and love. Megan and Miguel, may you live happily every after— I know you will!
